Apple Science!!!

In Room one we have been learning about what Mapua was like in the past. We learnt about the apple industry and how they use to export apples to many different places. After a bit of discussion we where wondering how did they get apples to stay good while they exported them? We decided to conduct an experiment. We start with discussing fair testing and making predictions about what would happen.
Here is our preserving experiment. We put two table spoons of Lemon juice, vinegar and salt water over 3 different apples. We left one apple with nothing to see what would happen. We did this over 5 days, starting on a Monday. Each day we did an observation of what was happening to the apples. We found out the the best mix to preserve the apple was salt water.

Come and see our science observation books we created!
