On Monday afternoon Room 1 ventured down to the Mapua Hall to
watch the Kahurangi performance. They taught us lots of new things
about Matariki and also Maori legends.
They sang beautiful songs and
performed fantastic dances and even did a Haka. We were lucky because we
where in the front row and got to see all the action up close.
On Tuesday Kahurangi came a did a workshop with us. We learnt how to use poi, Rakau and even some fun games in Maori. Once we got to experience everything, we performed what we had learnt to the rest of the group. The people in Kahurangi were really funny and we had a great time!
